Court rules for teacher who blasted creationism

Interesting California case: A federal appeals court has declined to find a constitutional violation by a school teacher who told a high school class that creationism was "superstitious nonsense."

A student challenged this as violating First Amendment guarantees of government neutrality toward religion. The ruling, which said the teacher had qualified immunity, didn't squarely reach the constitutional question as it overturned a lower court decision that had gone in the student's favor.
