HEADED OUT: Republican Party of Arkansas Executive Director Chase Duggar will leave his position at the end of August to join a political consulting firm.

HOYT FOR STATE SENATE: Former state representative Johnny Hoyt, D-Morrilton, has announced his candidacy for the newly-created District 15. Hoyt, a former teacher, building contractor and current cattle ranch owner, said in a press release: “Arkansans are tired of partisan bickering and mudslinging. With all the challenges Arkansans face we don’t have time to waste on partisan politics. In the State Senate I’ll work with both parties to create jobs and help small businesses grow so we can get our local economy on the right track.”

RICHMOND RUNNING IN 4TH: Marcus Richmond, a businessman who lives in Harvey, announced his candidacy for the Fourth District U.S. House seat yesterday on his Facebook page. Richmond will run as a Republican. From the announcement: “It is time to send a representative to DC who will focus on the next generation instead of the next election. A representative who will do the hard things because they are the right things. A representative who does not want a career in politics. For these reason you should get behind me and support my efforts to represent you.”
