Tim Griffin earns a Koch payday

THINGS GO BETTER WITH KOCH: Tim Griffin

In a battle between billionaires like T. Boone Pickens and the Koch family somebody is going to get hurt. But some people also stand to be helped.

Interesting story in Politico about Pickens' legislation to provide tax breaks for the gas industry to encourage, for example, gas-powered vehicles. The Kochs oppose it as a market-skewing bill that creates a favored industry.

Anyway, the local angle: The Kochs have been spending heavily, including passing out $14,000 to PACs of House members after they dropped their co-sponsorship of the legislation.

One of those favored with a Koch payday after he took his name off the bill: U.S. Rep. Tim Griffin of Little Rock.

Profitable minute's work.

UPDATE: A shadowy blog that fronts for Republican politicians in Arkansas (reads a little like K. Ryan James) explains that it is unfair to link Griffin's dropping of sponsorship with the Koch contributions because he's ALWAYS been high on the Koch payroll. Just briefly off-message was all.
