Filing closed at noon today for September elections for seats on the Little Rock and North Little Rock School Boards. Pulaski district elections are suspended while it is in state trusteeship.

Big news on the Little Rock School District front: Long-term incumbent Katherine Mitchell, an important player in a variety of board splits in recent years, did not seek re-election. Norma J. Johnson, 52, a state Highway and Transportation Department employee and mother of a Central High student, is unopposed for her Zone 1 set. Jody Carreiro was unopposed for re-election in Zone 5.

One race developed in North Little Rock between incumbent Scott Teague and Jimmy Ard for Zone 5. J.T. Zakrzewski was unopposed for Zone 6.

Here's the official list from the county clerk.
