I'm getting some Twitter-style feeds from Gov. Mike Beebe's talk today to the Downtown Little Rock Rotary Club.
In answer to a question from Dick Hatfield, the governor reportedly said term limits had diminished the power of the legislature. He seemed to link the knowledge that comes with experience to power.
Sure. Knowledge is important. So was the old seniority system. But here's the thing: See how powerful the governor is versus a bunch of presumably green freshmen legislators in January 2013 if the Republicans win majorities in the House and Senate. A pluperfect bunch of idiots can be supremely powerful with a majority and a rigid agenda.
