KAIT in Jonesboro gave Dr. No Boozman a 2.5-minute free editorial slot this week so he could promote more domestic oil drilling, particularly in Alaska. He contends the U.S. is the only developed country that doesn't take advantage of its natural resources, which will come as some surprise to residents of Fracktown, Arkansas.
Anyway, it's the same old stuff. And nonsense to suggest that drilling in Alaska will have any but the most marginal impact on pump prices. Fuel is priced on the world market, not one price for France and another for Arkansas because we brought some new wells on line in one of the 50 states, be it Alaska or Louisiana. Any new supply, a comparative trickle in world supply, wouldn't translate into cheap gas tomorrow in Arkansas.
