Mayor says tax election Sept. 13

KUAR's Kelly MacNeil quotes Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola as saying the city sales tax election likely will be Sept. 13. Specifics of the proposal apparently to be decided at the City Board meeting Tuesday.

I think I'll still bet on a half-cent for general operations and a half-cent, with sunset, for capital projects.

They could make $200,000 more for street repair by cutting off the Chamber of Commerce. It might be a good time for anybody in city government with a special parking place at Little Rock National Airport to use the peanut lot. Or something to distract attention from that sore spot. The all-but unanimous clobbering the city took over special legislation to protect a private airport parking lot from an airport tax increase should have sent a message about the regard in which Little Rock government is held.
