State income up in May

The state's report on tax revenue in May, the 11th month of the budget year, shows an increase over the same month last year and gross revenues in excess of the forecast.

Generally, the report said income taxes are up for the year and sales taxes are slightly below forecast. Income taxes exceeded expectations in the second half of the year, but "sales taxes appear to be weakening in conjunction with higher fuel prices."

Here's the full report.
