Police investigate three robberies UPDATE

A spate of robbery reports from the Little Rock police last night.

* A gunman robbed two barbers and two customers of their wallets in a robbery about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday of Forest Hicks' barber shop at 5409 Geyer Springs Road.

* A gunman robbed the front desk of the Holiday Inn at 4900 Talley Road about 9 p.m. Wednesday. He took an estimated $300.

* A customer was injured by a blow to the head during a robbery shortly before 10:30 p.m. at McAlister's Deli on Westhaven Drive. The initial police report said a robber fired one shot as he ran into the business and demanded money, but it's not clear what was taken. The initial report said a restaurant employee was shot, but Lt. Terry Hastings said further review showed that a friend of a restaurant employee was hit in the head with a pistol and it discharged when he was hit. He suffered a head injury, but was not shot, Hastings said.

UPDATE: Also from the police beat, a search in Maumelle for a car burglary suspect who reportedly fired a shot before running into woods near I-40.
