Too soon probably for an in-depth look, but not too soon to mention:
Central Arkansas environmentalists are watching a proposal by a company hoping to harvest electricity from wind turbines in Oklahoma and send it over lines through Arkansas to join the power grid serving the eastern United States.
Why? One possible route for the power line would pass through the watersheds of Lakes Maumelle and Winona, water supplies for Central Arkansas. The clear right of ways necessary for transmission lines are often maintained by chemical application. Water — and chemicals — roll down hill toward lakes and other living things.
Central Arkansas Water has notified Cleanline Energy of its interest in the power line route.
