Blue Arkansas reports on how U.S. Rep. Tim Griffin used staff to screen questions at his “tele-town hall” to prevent being asked embarrassing questions. Blue Hog wanted to ask how he squared votes to cut spending on FEMA and the National Weather Service in a week when both have been critical in Arkansas.

Good question, the call screener commented. Needless to say, only softballs were lobbed up to the congressman, with one exception. A crafty caller got in a jab on Griffin’s vote for tax cuts for the rich and ending the existing Medicare program. There, Griffin got nailed fibbing.

Blue Hog Arkansas also describes the private service used to set up these friendly “town halls,” packed with invitees from candidates’ supporter lists. (This is a bipartisan tactic, I should add.)

What do you think are the odds of a “live” town hall in Griffin’s future? Say at Children’s Hospital, scene of the famous summer of “take my country back” rage?
