The Democrat-Gazette today reported that University of Arkansas trustees had romanced University of Missouri Chancellor Brady Deaton for the job of president of the UA System and that former Board chair John Ed Anthony had met individually with board members on the presidential search during the UA's trip to the Sugar Bowl. (These meetings were of dubious legality under most interpretations of the Freedom of Information Act, except that of UA counsel. Board members David Pryor and Carl Johnson, now leading a more open search for president, were not in New Orleans then.)
