The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee says it will hit the air today with radio spots highlighting votes by Reps. Tim Griffin and Rick Crawford in favor of the House budget plan to end Medicare as single-payer health insurance coverage for older people. They'd subsidize private insurance companies in a system that many think will fail because, even with subsidies, insurers won't have much interest in covering the sickest and most expensive customers. Health care costs for others will explode.
The DCC isn't bothering, I note, with the 3rd District, a lost cause.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) today announced it is launching a paid advertising and grassroots campaign to hold Representative Tim Griffin (AR-02) accountable for voting to end Medicare.
Representative Griffin chose to end Medicare rather than end taxpayer giveaways for Big Oil making record profits or tax breaks for the ultra rich. Everyone agrees we must cut spending and tighten our belt, but Representative Griffin has made all the wrong choices.
As part of this new phase of the “Drive to 25” campaign, the DCCC is running news-weather-traffic radio ads, web ads, automated and live phone calls, and sending “action alert” e-mails beginning today in 25 targeted districts, including Representative Griffin’s district.

“Did you know Congressman Tim Griffin voted to end Medicare forcing seniors to pay $12,500 for private health insurance, without guaranteed coverage? Tell Griffin to keep his hands off our Medicare.”
