NO DUMMY JOKES ALLOWED: Miss Arkansas, Alise Eady, took her ventriloquist act to the state Senate today.
  • NO DUMMY JOKES ALLOWED: Miss Arkansas, Alise Eady, took her ventriloquist act to the state Senate today.

The line is open.

Closing notes:

* ATTENTION FOOTBALL FANS: The Arkansas spring game will be telecast at 2 p.m. April 16 on ESPN.

* TROJANS WIN: The UALR women's basketball team won a spot in the NCAA tournament today by defeating Western Kentucky, 66-59, to win the Sunbelt tourney.

* AT THE TEA PARTY ASYLUM: The Koch heads have developed a conspiracy theory that Gov. Mike Beebe has vowed to the swarthy Islamic terrorist in the White House that Arkansas will be the first to fully implement health care reform. This all is apparently based on a deep idea by Arkansas's human services experts to figure out a new Medicaid delivery system that won't bankrupt the state, even with the added money that is to be pumped into Arkansas if HCR isn't overturned. Facts don't matter in this discussion. But if you care, here's a copy of the letter from Beebe to President Obama's Health secretary, Kathleen Sebelius, if you'd like some insight to the outrage underway here. What Beebe describes as affordable, effective care is an outrage to Kochites. Roby Brock writes in more detail.
