The Arkansas Times
, after a successful charter bus run to the King Biscuit Blues Festival, is planning a bus trip to New Orleans for the Jazz and Heritage Festival. First weekend. Bus (beer), French Quarter hotel, tickets to the fest. Leave Friday morning, April 29, come back Monday. Good times, good food, good music are to be had. All for $675 and leave the driving to us. They may even get me on this one because my favorite singer, Irma Thomas
, will be on stage that weekend. Maybe she'll do, "Time Is on My Side," which inspired the Rolling Stones' followup. But she has dozens, including, "You can have my husband, but please don't mess with my man."
Check out my Rock Candy link for more details.
If I go, maybe we can get a good group to taxi out to Mosca's for the quintessential mobbed-up roadhouse feast. Cash only. Frank Sinatra on the box. Oysters. Shrimp. Pasta. Garlic by the sackful.
