A reader notes that New Mexico has opened the state checkbook on-line for a mere $211,000. He notes that the city of Little Rock's taxpayer contribution to the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce is almost enough to get the whole job done.
Arkansas is considering a similar idea.
Little Rock, presumably, could create a city checkbook for a small portion of that chamber handout. Some of those checks the city cuts could use another set of eyes, I think.
