The Postal Service is studying closure
of a Texarkana mail facility in the name of efficiency. Naturally, budget hawk Mike Ross
(and our senators) oppose the move because it would cost jobs in Arkansas and might slow mail delivery. Naturally, making the Postal Service operate profitably will mean fewer and slower deliveries and reduced jobs.
In a nutshell, you see the dilemma of balancing demands for service and jobs with revenue. And the hypocrisy that attends the debate in Congress.
