However downcast you might be about elections, rejoice that you don't live in Oklahoma, where the most extreme sort of Republican won from governor on down. And it turns out the victories were fueled in good measure by a constitutional amendment to forbid judges from considering international or Islamic law.
The measure is probably unconstitutional. And perhaps Arkansas will be spared it by the sympathetic Republicans recently swept into office because even the extremist Republican gubernatorial winner in Oklahoma is now acknowledging the difficulty this little stink bomb could create for businesses that do work abroad. Or even for those who might like to cite the Ten Commandments as guidance.
So far, sharia law as a threat to civilization has only been raised seriously (third item on link) in Bella Vista. But this sounds like something Mark Martin could really get his arms around.
