The Little Rock police are reporting the death of Calvin Watson, 38, who was shot during a home robbery early this morning on W. 31st Street. The report says death was not caused by the gunshot wound and an autopsy is being performed. The report:

Officers responded to a Shooting Just Occurred at 505 West 31st at 12:20 a.m. Officers arrived to find the front door to the residence kicked open and blood leading away from the residence. Officers then heard someone yelling for help and located the victim lying in the yard. The victim was bleeding from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. A witness advised that two (2) unknown black males forced entry into the house through the front door and attempted to rob the victim. A witness advised one of the suspects had a gun and that the victim got into a struggle with the suspects and attempted to get the gun. The suspect then shot the victim and fled from the residence. The victim was transported to UAMS for treatment. During treatment the victim died. Doctors at UAMS informed detectives the bullet wound was not sufficient to cause death. As we get more information on the cause of death I will let everyone know. Right now this is being investigated as a Homicide.
