The Westboro “Baptist Church” has notified the Independence County sheriff’s office that they’ll have a “public demonstration/outdoor religious service” at 2 p.m. Nov. 10 outside Midland High School “regarding the judgment of God with respect to the dangers of promoting homosexuality and the rest of the filthy manner of life and idol worshipping of this nation.”

The Phelps family is best ignored. I hesitate to promote them here. I just hope that people in Pleasant Plains can do the same. Or at least, in the case of some who turned out for counter-demonstrations in support of former school board member Clint McCance after his anti-gay remarks on Facebook, resist the temptation to join them.
