Surprise: a handful of major corporate donors are driving the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's corporate takeover of American elections, the New York Times reports.
So far, the U.S. Chamber hasn't managed to get itself on the direct government dole — with no public accountability — as the Little Rock chamber has, but give it time.
UPDATE: as a reader noted, the Wall Street Journal reported today that AFSCME, the public employees union, is the biggest single spender this election cycle. As I've already said, at least that's transparent. And we'll never have a full accounting of the stealth money being spent by numerous anonymous front groups in campaigns all over America, not just the Chamber and Karl Rove's Crossroads group.
