Some senatorial lead shrinkage noted in the final Talk Business/Hendrix College polling on the races for governor and U.S. Senate.
Governor: Mike Beebe 50-34 over Jim Keet, with about 12 percent undecided and 3.5 percent favoring Green nominee Jim Lendall. That's up from a 13-point lead in September.
Senator: John Boozman 49-36 over Sen. Blanche Lincoln, with about 7 percent undecided and 4 percent each for Green candidate John Gray and independent candidate Trevor Drown. That's markedly narrower than Boozman's 27-point gap in the last poll.
A devout liberal Democrat of my acquaintance told me a week ago that Lincoln's wobbling on Bush tax cuts had finally decided it for him, that he would vote Green. But he added an asterisk: He wouldn't do so if the polls indicated any chance a Green vote could tip the balance of the election. So ....
