First congressional district Democratic candidate Chad Causey — half the focus of a fund-raising sweep through Arkansas yesterday by Arkansas's favorite homeboy Bill Clinton — isn't doing so bad for himself on his own when it comes to fund raising. A press release by his campaign crows that Causey raised $576,000 during the third quarter of 2010, outpacing every other Congressional candidate in the state, and has around $430,000 cash on hand going into the last leg of the race.

Full release, which takes time to rail at opponent Rick Crawford for his "fiscal irresponsibility" over Crawford's past bankruptcy and credit card debt, on the jump...

CAUSEY REPORTS OVER $576,000 FOR THIRD QUARTER
Crawford receives numerous FEC complaints, once again shows fiscal recklessness

JONESBORO-1st District Congressional candidate and Jonesboro-native Chad Causey raised over $576,000 during the third quarter of 2010 and has over $430,000 cash on hand. Causey out-raised every other candidate running for Congress in the state of Arkansas that has released their third quarter fundraising numbers.

“Our message of job creation, fiscal responsibility, and protecting Social Security is attracting both financial and grassroots support from Arkansans across the 1st District,” Causey said. “The momentum surrounding our campaign is growing every day, and I’m working hard, traveling the District, to earn the support of every Arkansan in the District.”

The full FEC report will be released on October 15.

According to the Federal Election Commission website, the Crawford campaign has been cited for numerous financial mistakes, once again proving Crawford’s pattern of fiscal recklessness. The citations can be found here. Crawford is not new to fiscal irresponsibility. Earlier newspaper accounts have explained where Crawford racked up thousands of dollars in credit card debt in several states and then walked away from it by declaring bankruptcy.

“This nation needs someone who knows how to get the job done, not someone who has a pattern and record of fiscal irresponsibility. If Rick Crawford cannot manage his personal and campaign finances, how can he be trusted with taxpayer dollars?” Causey spokesman Candace Martin asked. “Arkansans just can’t afford to have their tax dollars managed by someone like Rick Crawford. Rick Crawford just doesn’t get it,” said Martin.

Reports for the Causey for Congress campaign can be found here. Causey has a flawless FEC record of reporting.
