Attorney General Dustin McDaniel and 20 other attorney generals, fresh off getting Craiglist to shut down its on-line advertising categories for sexual services, has written another Internet-based classified service, Backpage.com, to shut down its "adult services" section.
"Adult services sections are little more than online brothels, enabling human trafficking and sexual exploitation of women and children," [Connecticut A.G. Richard] Mr. Blumenthal said. Because Backpage cannot properly police adult services, the section should be shut down immediately."
The Arkansas Times uses backpage.com for a link to on-line classified advertising. It does not, however, include adult services listings.
