State Police report a quadruple fatality on
Interstate 40 U.S. 64 near Conway that sounds, if not a road rage incident, something akin to it. The statement:
Arkansas State Troopers are investigating a fatal highway crash which has claimed the lives of four individuals.
Preliminary statements from witnesses indicate the crash was the direct result of a driver pursing a second vehicle, losing control and striking two other vehicles.
The crash occurred about 12:35 this afternoon (Sunday, September 12, 2010) near the intersection of U.S. Highway 64 and Lawrence Lane, east of Conway.
The dead include three adults and one child.
A woman who was inside the vehicle with four family members killed in the crash survived and has been taken to a Little Rock hospital.
Preliminary investigative reports indicate at least three other people were injured in the crash. Two of the injuries are believed to be minor.
Highway Patrol Troopers and State Police Special Agents assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division are interviewing the drivers of the vehicles involved in the chase. An investigative file will be submitted to a prosecuting attorney for review and the consideration of charges. The investigation is on-going.
