Little Rock, AR- President William Jefferson Clinton is returning to his home state of Arkansas and will host a lunch time reception for Joyce Elliott to benefit her campaign for U.S. Congress. On September 8, President Clinton will join Senator Joyce Elliott for an event at Copper Grill on 300 E. 3rd Street in Little Rock. The reception for Senator Elliott will be the first stop scheduled on what will be a busy political day for President Clinton. “I am so honored to have President Clinton’s support,” said Elliott. “President Clinton's life has been one of the true great American success stories: to go from such humble roots growing up in a small town in Arkansas to the White House is remarkable. I admired his leadership as Governor, as President and his tireless work as a world humanitarian since leaving office. I value his friendship and cannot thank the President enough for this extraordinary show of support for my campaign. It's always exciting to have Bill Clinton back in the great state of Arkansas."

Like President Clinton, Senator Joyce Elliott comes from humble roots growing up in the small town of Willisville, AR. Joyce's life has been shaped by hard work and a dedication to serving the people of Arkansas. Before entering public service in the Arkansas legislature, Joyce was a teacher for 30 years including teaching at Joseph T. Robinson High School in Little Rock. She is the Democratic nominee for the 2nd Congressional District of Arkansas and would be the first woman elected to the seat since "Fannie" Pearl P. Oldfield in 1929.
