The Downtown Little Rock Partnership has released its survey of opinions on Main Street and downtown development issues.

The organization is upbeat, as you might imagine. From Director Sharone Priest's news release:

“The survey results tell us we’re on the right track in our committee work for Main Street revitalization,” added Priest. “People want a great downtown.” There are five subcommittees that have been working since last fall on safety, streetscape, peer city review, existing structures, and marketing.

When asked about the level of safety experienced while downtown, 70.6% indicated feeling a good degree of safety. “Since we began working on Main Street last fall,” said Priest, “the City has added a foot patrol officer on Main Street and surveillance cameras at the corner of 3rd and Main. We think these two changes have already made a difference in safety and the perception of safety in the Main Street area.”
