Maybe the community can liven things up.

A reminder: Dr. Jeremiah Wright, President Obama's former pastor, will be preaching Sunday at Little Rock's New Millennium Church, a Baptist congregation pastored by rising Judge Wendell Griffen.

CHURCH NEWS RELEASE

New Millennium Church, which worships and meets on the campus of Lakeshore Drive Baptist Church at 21 Lakeshore Drive in Little Rock, will conclude a month-long focus on the relationship between faith and community involvement with worship on August 29 featuring a sermon by Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr., during the 9 a.m. worship service. Rev. Wright became Pastor Emeritus of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Illinois at the end of May 2008 and was Senior Pastor of that congregation for 36 years.

Rev. Wright will preach during the 9 a.m. worship service at New Millennium, and will meet privately with a Sunday School group afterwards. The worship service will include choral music by the Arkansas Baptist College Choir directed by Rev. Henry L. Parker, Jr., soloist Charles Rodgers, instrumental music by Lakeshore/New Millennium musicians Cindy Boyles and Barbara Hill, and participation by Rev. Griffen and the following local clergy: Rev. Demetria Edwards, Rev. Leroy James, Min. Anika Whitfield, and Rev. Paul Fray. Parking will be available on the church campus with overflow parking in the nearby Broadmoor Shopping Center parking lot and along Lakeshore Drive near the church campus.
