Lt. Gov. Bill Halter has finally begun sitting down for interviews about his Democratic primary loss to Sen. Blanche Lincoln and what the future holds after he leaves office in early 2011. Today, he met with Gerard Matthews for an extensive chat. He says he was disappointed, though not surprised, by negativity in his race. He also didn't seem as surprised as some pundits were by his defeat. He said he knew it would be close. He has no immediate political or employment plans after his term ends, but says he intends to stay rooted in Arkansas. And he still takes issue with some of the analysis on how voters split.
