It is to laugh. Martha Adcock, lawyer for the hateful Family Council, is crying crocodile tears because a federal judge in California ruled that the U.S. Constitution means what it says. What part of equal rights doesn’t Adcock understand? Oh. It’s the part that covers same-sex couples seeking to marry in California.
Any time the will of the People is so blatantly disregarded by the federal government, our liberty is threatened.
There’s so much to say. I presume, for example, Adcock would pull back Brown v. Board of Education and all the undergirding rulings that struck down racially discriminatory laws here in Arkansas. As she said, “the federal courts should respect their [the people’s] right to make policy.”
But she wins the BHD award of the day for much more recent events. Like when the Family Council sued to PREVENT a vote on the state lottery. Like when the Family Council said it hoped to get the legislature to override the vote of the people on the lottery. Like when the Family Council sued to stop voter-approved racetrack gambling in Hot Springs.
These good Christians LIKE activist judges when they don’t like election outcomes. They’re just not honest about it.
