Dawn Jackson, the Pulaski School District blogger who's a font of information about the Pulaski School Board's ongoing dispute with the teachers union and reports now and then on questionable acts by certain School Board members, reports that there will be a contest for the District 4 seat on the board, held by anti-union board member Charlie Wood. Wood has indicated he probably will seek re-election.
Jackson reports that Gloria Lawrence, who retired this year after 23 years of teaching at Sylvan Hills Middle School, will seek the board seat. Her three children attended Pulaski schools (she's lived in Sherwood 25 years) and her three grandchildren are currently enrolled. Jackson writes that Lawrence will "bring much-needed fair-mindedness to work for the PCSSD."
UPDATE: Jackson says a Jacksonville candidate filed today, too, for the District 5 seat held by another union foe, Danny Gilliland.
