John Brummett, in a roundup of short takes, sounds a hopeful note for Joyce Elliott, the Democratic candidate for 2nd District Congress. He givers her an "up" arrow.
Joyce Elliott — This is the year of the woman in Arkansas politics, even nationally, except for Lincoln. Elliott has zealous backers. She has a strong Pulaski County base. She is smart and thoughtful on issues, and people will begin to see that. Her Republican opponent [Tim Griffin] ought to beat her because everything sets up for him, meaning the mood and the map, but he is a lightning rod owing to his old association with Karl Rove and to the crude, bullying way he helped himself to the U.S. attorney’s job in Little Rock.
