Two men were shot in a drive-by at a car wash on Broadway last night, LRPD says. The report:

SUSPECT — UNKNOWN
VICTIM- DERON VAN BUREN, B/M, 03-23-1981, 2012 S. VAN BUREN
VICTIM — MARTEL WARD, B/M, 05-31-1991, 2012 S. VAN BUREN
INCIDENT DATE/TIME — 06-10-2010, 1940 HOURS
INCIDENT LOCATION —1201 S. BROADWAY/ CARWASH

On 06-10-10, at approximately 1940 hours, officers of the Little Rock Police Department responded to a Shots Fired Call at 12th and Spring. While in the area, officers received information that a shooting had taken place at the carwash located at 1201 S. Broadway. Upon arrival officers found evidence of the shooting and glass from an unknown vehicle. Around this same time officers responded to Children’s Hospital where 2 subjects had been shot. Upon arrival at the hospital it was learned that Martel Ward and Deron Van Buren had been shot at the carwash. Detectives and CSSU were called to the scene.

Detectives made contact with Ward and Van Buren at the hospital. Both subjects were being treated for gunshot wounds and were expected to survive their injuries. Ward was being treated for a gunshot wound to the left arm and Van Buren was being treated for a gunshot wound to the left side of his head and left shoulder. Ward advised detectives that they were at the carwash washing his grandmother’s vehicle when subjects in a small white vehicle pulled up and started shooting at them. After they were hit Ward drove to the hospital. Suspect information and motive is unknown at this time is unknown at this time.
