Little Rock police say a 35-year-old woman was found slain in her home early this morning and her eight-month-old son was found, unharmed, stuffed behind a mattress nearby. The woman's boyfriend has been charged with capital murder.
On Monday, June 07, 2010, at approximately 0035 hours, Officers received a radio call to 4215 W. 18th to a Homicide. Communications advised that a female caller was reporting that her niece was covered in blood and that the niece’s vehicle was missing.
Officers arrived on scene and found the body of Briticia Walters, B/F, 05-22-75, on the floor in a bedroom with several stab wounds to the neck. They also located her 8 month old son in the bedroom unharmed. MEMS responded and transported Walters to UAMS where she was pronounced.
Terry Billups, B/M, 03-07-71, Walter’s boyfriend, was responsible for the homicide. It was also discovered that Walters’ 2006 Nissan Altima was missing and possibly in Billups’ possession.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Technicians responded to the scene. A broadcast was made giving a description of the victim’s vehicle and the information was also provided to area agencies. Billups was located at his place of work in Conway and arrested. He was charged with Capital Murder, Theft of Property and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. Billups placed Walter’s son between a mattress and the wall and then covered him up with clothes after he killed Walters.
