Early voting about half first vote

The secretary of state said early voting through today has been about 68,000. That figure doesn't cover all counties. That compares with more than 121,000 before the first primary.

Some extremely rough arithemetic: About 329,000 voted in the first Democratic Senate primary. So, if 56 percent of that number votes in the runoff, about 184,000 votes will be cast. It will take 92,000 to win.

Or thereabouts. But, early voting ran several days longer for the first primary, so it could be the final percentage will be higher, with a relatively higher percentage of votes cast election day.

In Pulaski County, the early vote through 4:30 p.m. Monday was just under 9,000 for the runoff. It was about 15,500 at 4:30 p.m. Monday before the first primary. About 44,000 voted in the Senate race in the first primary overall, counting early votes and election day.
