A warm, clear evening greeted Riverfest on opening day and it would appear Earth,Wind and Fire (see crowd shot below) was a popular choice as Friday headliner. Writes photographer Brian Chilson, who gathered shots yesterday:
I've fought my way through a lot of crowds - HUGE crowds. The crowd for Earth Wind and Fire was FAR and away the largest I've ever seen at Riverfest - packed shoulder to shoulder from the stage to the gates leaving the amphitheater - there was no place to sit, no place to walk - the areas normally outside the eating area where you might expect to be clear to walk were covered.
EARTH WIND AND FIRE -- and people.
TUMBLERS: A perennial 'fest fave.
