I guess this is a counter to Joyce Elliott's announcement that David Boling, U.S. Rep. Vic Snyder's former chief of staff, had endorsed her candidacy for Congress after finishing behind her in the primary.
To any who might think this bestows Elliott with the Snyder mantle comes a note from the Robbie Wills campaign that says a previous Snyder chief of staff, Ed Fry, supports Wills. Ed's note (And, Ed, I'm just funning you a little with that headline):
A progressive focuses on efficiency in all areas of our community. Robbie is a true progressive, and he gets the job done. In 2009, when Democrats and Republicans elected Robbie Arkansas's Speaker of the House, I took serious notice of him. I watched him closely because our state and nation faced the largest economic crisis since the Great Depression. When Arkansas faced million dollar budget gaps, under Robbie's leadership we balanced our budget, created jobs, cut taxes, and made the greatest improvements to Arkansas's health care system in decades.
Given the challenges facing our county in the next two years we need strong progressive leadership in Congress. For me, its simple, Robbie Wills has proven that he is committed to moving our state forward; now, that's a progressive I can support. I encourage you to cast your vote for Robbie Wills for U.S Congress on June 8th.
