LRPD NEWS RELEASE
2010-49478– Aggravated Robbery – 307 Clinton Avenue
At 0153 hours, officers responded to shots fired in the River Market area reported from a refused complainant. While investigating, Brandon Young called 9-1-1 from the railroad bridge stating that he was chasing a B/M who had just robbed him. The call went to North Little Rock Police due to the victim being over the river and NLRPD units responded as well. Contact was made with the victim who advised that a B/M who he was sitting with on a bench on Clinton Avenue had put him in a headlock and placed a large revolver in his face. The suspect then struck the victim in the face with the weapon, took his wallet and fled onto the railroad bridge towards North Little Rock. As the suspect fled, a B/F standing nearby also ran from the scene. The victim and a friend began to chase the suspects across the river when the B/M fired the revolver into the air. Once across the river, NLRPD officers spotted the suspects and watched the B/M drop the gun and the wallet while fleeing. NLRPD officers took both suspects into custody around Verizon Arena and notified our officers. Little Rock officers responded to North Little Rock and recovered the wallet and the suspect’s weapon. Both suspects were transported to the Downtown D.O. where they were charged. Darren Washington, B/M, 1-31-86 and Rotashia Davis, B/F, 12-4-83 were charged with one count of Aggravated Robbery and one count of Theft of Property each.
