Has the state lottery diminished gambling on blackjack, slot-type machines and other games at Southland and Oaklawn Parks? No, according to state figures.

In September, the month before the lottery got underway (sales started Sept. 28), a cumulative $60.8 million was wagered at the two racinos on so-called electronic games of skill -- $24.5 million at Oaklawn and $36.3 million at Southland. In April, that number had jumped to $86.5 million ($36.3 million and $50.2 million, respectively.)
