The Republican primary for 2nd District Congress is interesting. Tim Griffin is running a well-funded, disciplined, straight-from-the-GOP's-D.C.-war-rooms campaign that reflects his experience at same for Karl Rove/G.W. Bush. You can't escape his finely honed radio ads. Scott Wallace has much less money, but stresses his Arkansas roots and has rounded up some pretty famous endorsements (Mike Huckabee, John Paul Hammerschmidt, megachurch preacher Robert Lewis and more).
Now add this one. The Duggar family ("19 Kids and Counting") and American Idol contestant Charity Vance have scheduled a benefit concert for Wallace. If the Duggars were all voting age (and lived in the 2nd District) that'd be a pretty big boost for Wallace right there. The event advertises Adam Roth, a minister at New Life church, as a speaker. Has Wallace cultivated a network of evangelical supporters, often an important base for Republican candidates? We'll know in a week.
