Pro Publica, the non-profit journalism outfit, continues its reporting on the environmental issues related to the explosion of gas exploration
in shale formations (see Arkansas). Here, it's an ongoing look
at cattle deaths near a Chesapeake Energy rig in northern Louisiana. The cattle drank from mysterious fluid near the well. Worth watching. The core issue is energy companies' refusal to identify the chemicals they're using. They claim proprietary protections. That leaves regulators guessing about potential pollution problems.
