Viva Mexico!

I should have mentioned earlier that a big announcement is planned Wednesday for a major event in Little Rock this fall celebrating the centennial of Mexican independence.

You heard me. Check the jump. Our sister paper, El Latino, will be covering it like the dew covers Chiapas

The Arkansas Mexican Consulate, UALR, the cities of Little Rock and North Little Rock, and the William J. Clinton Foundation will unveil plans for the coming the Mexico 2010 Celebration coming to central Arkansas this fall.
The Arkansas Mexico 2010 celebration, one of 50 celebrations in major cities across the U.S. and 160 locations in the world, will help commemorate the bicentennial of Mexico’s Independence movement and the centennial of its 1910 Revolution.
Expected to bring thousands of people to central Arkansas, the celebration will span five months of activities and will involve all major cultural institutions in Little Rock and North Little Rock.
Making the announcement will be Arkansas Mexican Consul Andres Chao, UALR Chancellor Joel Anderson, North Little Rock Mayor Patrick Hays, and Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola.
