Plans are firming up for three debates by Democratic candidates for Congress from the 2nd District, the first April 27 at Philander Smith. It's anticipated that an Arkansas Times-sponsored debate using social media tools will be May 11.
On Tuesday John Adams, David Boling, Sen. Joyce Elliot, Patrick Kennedy and Speaker Robbie Wills announced that they have agreed to three official debates, with the first being Tuesday, April 27th at Philander Smith College. It will be moderated by A. Felicia Epps, Dean of the Bowen School of Law and is sponsored by the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. The second debate will be held on May 4th at the University of Central Arkansas, and the third will be on May 11th and sponsored by the Arkansas Times. Further details about the final two will be released soon. All three debates will be open to the public.
