Brummett tries to explain Sen. Blanche Lincoln's somewhat confusing stance(s) on health care reform.
If you have a hand in crafting an epic new law that you support, then why not vote to reconcile amendments to it by the simple majority your leadership has deemed to be adequate and by which it’s going to pass with or without your vote?
It’s because she needed to look a bit like she was against this bill that she wanted liberals to know she’d had a hand in crafting. I mean, seriously: Have you checked any polls lately on Arkansawyers’ views of Obamacare?
They don’t like it. Or they think they don’t.
I’ll say this in Blanche’s defense: She stood in front of the Farm Bureau the other day and, amid what surely was overwhelming oppositon to health care reform, said this new bill was good for Arkansas.
