Yes, some humor has entered the race for U.S. Senate. And it's just in time.
I've received the announcement today of the formation of a group known as Big Banks for Blanche. It has a Facebook page. The message:
A committee of Wall Street bankers and insurance CEOs who want to send Sen. Blanche Lincoln back to Washington for six more years. Blanche has been there for us in DC, now we're doubling down our investment in her during the 2010 primary.
They plan to cheer her Friday when she appears before the Delta Caucus at the Clinton Presidential Center. Wearing monocles, sipping champagne and ordering poor people around, I presume. Remember Billionaires for Bush? (They're back as Billionaires for Wealthcare and Lincoln would be a natural for their support, too, given her devotion to eradication of the estate tax)
NOTICE FROM BBBB
We would like to announce the formation of Big Banks for Blanche - a
committee of Wall Street bankers and insurance CEOs who want to send
Sen. Blanche Lincoln back to Washington for six more years. Blanche
has been there for us in DC, now we're doubling down our investment in
her during the 2010 primary.
Why Blanche? Few could be so loyal to us while doing so little for
their home state. She voted twice for Wall Street bailouts and
subsidies to banks for student loans - but then stood proudly against
popular changes to the health care bill that would benefit Arkansas at
the expense of Wall Street.
Our campaign expenditures on Blanche's behalf only go so far, and
starting this week we'll be stepping off the limo and into the streets
to defend her.
It begins this Friday April 2nd - we'll be at the Clinton Presidential
Center starting at 11am to support Blanche at her Luncheon appearance
at the Mississippi Delta Grassroots Caucus. The details can be found
on our Facebook Page:
Look for updates on our campaign as the primary progresses. Please do
check our Page and look for more in your inbox.
Forward Wall Street!
