Two Little Rock police SWAT officers were shot about 6:30 a.m. this morning when they tried to serve a search warrant at an apartment at 2200 Marshall Street.
Both are listed in good condition -- one with a wound in each leg. The other officer was shot in the stomach, but was protected by a bulletproof vest and not seriously hurt. Two suspects also were shot. One was critically wounded.
Lt. Terry Hastings said that a third officer injured an arm in a one-story fall from the second-floor apartment's small back porch. Cocaine dealing was the target of the search. Cocaine and weapons were seized at the same apartment in a raid in September.
Hastings said shooting erupted when officers tried to enter the apartment. Channel 4 reported later that police believe only one person in the apartment was responsible for the shooting and he was not the person critically wounded. Harry Porter has been charged as the shooter. He was not injured. Floyd Walton, 54, was shot in the leg and remains hospitalized. A woman who police are not identifying is hospitalized in critical condition.
Cocaine, marijuana, hydrocodone and three weapons were taken from the apartment.
Nine people were taken into custody initially. Here are the police reports.
