U.S. Rep. John Boozman, who’s running for U.S. Senate, has been forced to provide a statement on the idea by a ranking Republican to privatize — and cut — Social Security and Medicare.

It’s a dodge of an answer. But by saying he’s open to studying all budget options he does not avail himself of the opportunity to say he stands four-square for the popular programs at current levels.
