For a slow, icy morning:
A reader shares correspondence with officialdom at Little Rock Air Force Base on the TV channel selection played on televisions at medical facilities at LRAFB
All Fox News all the time, reader says.
(Anybody know a facility open to the public -- public or private -- where the channel of choice is MSNBC?)

There's many of us who feel strongly that FOX news is an illegitimate news organization at best therefore we resent the fact that at the medical facilities all TV sources are turned to FOX news.
Would like to see a change.

Thank you for your e-mail. We have addressed your concern with the staff at the 19th Medical Group. However, please note that it is not within our purview to determine what news on any of the major networks is deemed "legitimate" or not. We will ensure the 19 MDG is aware of your concerns but we will leave it to their judgment as to which channels they choose to show on the courtesy televisions placed throughout the clinic.

Careful out there it's slick!
Thank you TSgt Grabham for your quick response! I must say I'm quite distraught on your office's lack of action but understand the military power structure and sympathize with the limits of your authority. Unfortunately, you have no alternative but to leave it to their judgment, or lack thereof, to determine what's best /dictate what everyone sees on the courtesy television sets. Of course we already know what side of the fence their judgment lies on.
It's not my intention to be argumentative but aren't the courtesy television sets at these facilities taxpayer funded? So a balanced policy would best suit everyone concerned would it not? Why someone would dictate the sole questionable news channel escapes me.
Moreover, it's been alluded at the highest government level that FOX news is a manipulative rather than a balanced and/or legitimate media! So what would be the motivational factor of anyone to dictate what the public needs to see?
Thank you for your courtesy Sergeant Grabham! Jack
