Asa Hutchinson (does the former congressman, gubernatorial candidate, etc. need an introduction?) has announced on his Facebook page that he supports Kim Hendren for U.S. Senate.
Well, sure. Hendren is married to Asa's sister. Still, it's another wrinkle in what's looking more and more like one of the great balkanized Louisiana primary battles of my youth -- with New Orleans candidates, Cajun candidates, upstate Baptist candidates, Klansmen, punch-drunk fighters and assorted confidence men vying for their voter slice. An A.J. Liebling needed.
Anyway, Asa said of Hendren:
He is a family man, business man and has served Arkansas for many years. Besides that he had the good sense to marry my sister Marylea. This is an important race for Arkansas and the country. A lot is at stake.
