About that icy grip

All those people who were madly clearing shelves in my neighborhood Kroger last night?

They'll have to wait until after work to do anything with their stockpiles.

As you can see here in Pulaski County, the weather disaster didn't arrive. Serious cold air is coming still, but not ice and snow.

BY THE WAY: The city of Little Rock opened at 4 p.m. Wednesday a 24-hour "warming center" in the Nathaniel Hill Community Center on East Sixth Street. It will remain open as a shelter through noon Monday, Jan. 11.

The City of Little Rock is opening the Nathaniel Hill Community Center, at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, to serve as a 24-Hour Warming Center.

The center will remain open until 12:00 PM on Monday, January 11, 2010, and is available to those individuals in need of a warm place to stay over the next several days.

Cots, blankets and food will be provided. In addition, showers and towels will be available.

Volunteers and City Staff will be available to answer questions and assist with the needs of those individuals utilizing the facility.

Transportation to the facility will be available.
